The Vancouver Winter Olympics sure paved the way for more income opportunities to people in Vancouver. In Craigslist, you can surely rake in a lot of results upon searching for Vancouver Olympics listings.

The most popular listing on Craigslist is for accommodations. A lot of Vancouverites are offering their place for visitors to stay in so they could earn a few extra dollars. The Olympic housing options has over a thousand listings starting the 1st of February starting from a $25,000 worth of penthouse to as little as $100 a night stay in a host’s house.

Aside from the accommodations being offered for the Olympics, a lot are also posting for business such as for a hot dog cart and a mini bus. If you are interested, you can buy the hot dog cart and start selling hotdogs during the event or perhaps use the mini bus to offer your transportation service.

There are lots of different postings in the heat of the Olympics in Vancouver. Lots of buyers and sellers go to Craigslist to find what good they can find or sell there. Some posts here are also rants and some really strange shoutouts that the Olympics are some sort of a Nazi tradition being repeated over and over again. Needless to say, these posts are quite entertaining and give you a glimpse of what Vancouverites have in mind.

Couple charged with fraud – Once posted ad on Craigslist to sell baby

In Canada, a couple from Vancouver posted an ad last year to sell their baby for $10,000. They were not charged for the said ad because they claimed that it was just a sick joke. Pete and Granholm admitted on posting the ads but that Pete was just joking when he posted the ad to sell their week-old baby. Now, that may seem to be just an alibi as they had previous cases of theft and obstruction charges as well as fraud which they claimed to be a thing of the past.

The couple has been charged with fraud for their involvement in the credit card stealing group that involves 5 other people. The 7 people had made a spending spree from June 8 to July 16 amounting to $80,000 with purchases such as electronics, tickets and even a limousine ride.

The couple had been on the headlines last year for their “sick joke” ad but are now in the news again and this time, they can’t make any “sick joke” alibis with the charges against them.
