A parking code officer from Oregon City had been arrested last week for aggravated theft as well as computer crime charges. The 40 year old man named Gary Anthony Stewart is scheduled for an arraignment on Wednesday and was booked on Tuesday at the Clackamas County Jail.
Police said that the parking code officer was charged in connection to fraudulent ads he placed on the classified ads site Craigslist and several suspicious wire transfer of money that had caught the attention of Key Bank, an investigator.
Several accusations had been accounted at the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office against the said parking officer. Gary Anthony Stewart had worked as a parking code enforcement officer for 2 years in Oregon City and resides in Milwaukie.
James Weiss, a man from Portland , Oregon has used Craigslist to help him find his stolen car tires. He received a call from the Werkstatt Auto Shop detailing him about his new wheels being stolen overnight. He saved up to buy those new wheels and they were worth around $2,000.
James Weiss knew it was a long shot to find the perpetrator by posting an online ad but this didn’t stop him from posting an ad on Craigslist. He later received a tip from an anonymous person telling him that he/she knows who stole his wheels and gave him the thief’s address.
James Weiss stalked the house of the thief first to confirm and when he saw a car pulling up with his wheels and tires, he called the police. The thief turned out to be a 17 year old kid who then confessed of his crimes.
Craigslist is indeed a great way to find answers to your needs and this is just one proof of that.
