Stolen Bicycle recovered thanks to Craigslist

A man from Honolulu was wise enough to use the website Craigslist to recover his stolen bicycle with a bit of help from the Honolulu police. The man had noticed from the Craigslist website an ad where a photograph of the bicycle being sold looks remarkably like the bicycle that was stolen from him. He reported it to the police and he arranged a meeting with the seller.

The owner of the bicycle went with police officers to the meeting place where the owner and seller would meet near the Kapiolani Boulevard intersection with McCully Street. There they met the 31 year old man who posted the ad on Craigslist.

The owner of the bike had positively identified the bicycle and another bicycle that was brought by the seller is determined to be a stolen bicycle as well. The seller was then arrested for suspicion with 2 counts of detaining stolen property.
