Job Con Artists being cracked down by FTC

The FTC or the Federal Trade Commision launched their new crackdown for con artists that prey on Americans that are currently in need of jobs.

These con artists would use the job placement and WAH scams to promote their false promises of helping people get jobs in the government as well in movies as extras. Some even offer mystery shopping jobs as well as Work-At-Home jobs.

The Operation Bottom Dollar is FTC’s new operation and they have so far filed 7 cases against these scammers. 43 criminal actions had also been filed by the justice department.

The agency had announced that they are partners with sites such as Bing, Craigslist and Monster.com to help job seekers out there to be aware and recognize which job posts are scams so they can avoid getting victimized. These sites will display the material from FTC on their sites to inform their visitors and raise awareness with the issue.
