Now you can keep yourself updated even when you’re not always in front of your PC. Yes, now you can get an SMS alert from Pingie. It will send you a text message whenever there is a new item that shows up on Craigslist with your search results.
It’s like this. If you search for Craigslist with the term “shoes” and you use Pingie then every time there is a new item for “shoes” then you will get a text message that tells you about the new item.
It’s a great idea but it’s not for everyone as it can get irritating to some to constantly get a text message about the new items on Craigslist but of course, it’s great for those who are serious about being the first to learn about the new posts.
SMS and Craigslist will definitely take off. With the current economic condition etc and Craigslist being free, this is a great combo.
Seems pingie is no longer in service. Anyone know other services? I would love to have personal development notification sent through SMS text messaging.

It’s very timely, too – you will receive notifications within minutes of the postings appearing online.

Greg’s Pulse can also be used to track other things as well – anything with an RSS feed. I personally use it to track deals on air tickets.
