Craigslist good Samaritans formed bonds of friendship in Forest

Kelly Street, a mother and wife from Meridian had posted last January 1 an ad on Craigslist requesting for good Samaritans to give her some clothes for her four kids. Her family relies on the husband’s income and is having a hard time getting by with the day to day expenses and bills.

A week after her posting, she received a single reply and it came from a woman in Pearl offering her help. Kelly Street said that the woman had responded to her ad saying that she also has kids of almost the same age as Kelly’s kids and that she’d be happy to see if she has some clothes to give her. The two ladies talked for hours on the phone and the woman had really lifted the spirit of Kelly Street that she feels like someone truly cared for her and understands what she is going through.

A few days later, they spoke once more and had agreed to meet in a parking lot in Forest’s Wal-Mart. She was expected to receive some clothes from this Good Samaritan but she got so much more than she was expecting.

When she arrived at the parking lot, she was surprised to see not only a few set of clothes but outfit for each of her kids, some warm jackets, toys, books, board games and canned goods plus a purse each for her daughters.

In one of the purse, a check was found and the Streets felt like it wasn’t left there intentionally so they tried to find the Good Samaritan again through Craigslist but found lots of scammers pretending to be the woman. Though, Kelly knows better and she can remember the lady. On February 5th, she found her. Her name is Diamond Dearman.

Dearman confirmed she misplaced the check. With all the exchanges of help and doing what’s right by not keeping the money, the two ladies became friends.

Now that’s a wonderful story to tell the world about.
