Craigslist ad helped find suspects

A 17 year old and an 18 year old man became suspects for different cases of burglaries after they posted an ad on Craigslist for a stolen car stereo which was seen by the person they stole the stereo from just a few hours before they posted the ad.

Joe Flesher came to the police around 3 in the afternoon to report that his Sony Xplode stereo was stolen from his truck on Green Street. Just a little while later he came back and told the police that a similar car stereo was posted on Craigslist just after the incident.

Police made a fake email account and pretended to be a buyer and agreed to met up that night in a parking lot. When the police had confirmed that the car stereo brought by a 17 year old juvenile and Miguel Rodriguez who is 18 years old, he immediately identified himself to them and a group of police officers came to apprehend them. A search warrant to their homes led to other stereo components and was taken by the police as evidence and they are trying to identify who owns the items.
