Felony had been charged to a man who posted an ad on Craigslist claiming another person’s identity as a joke. Morgan Smith of Eau Claire had been accused after he posted on Craigslist under the “men seeking men” category but using the photo and phone number of another man. The unsuspecting victim immediately went to the police when he kept receiving phone calls from men who were responding to the Craigslist ad.
Morgan Smith has told the police that his victim was his girlfriends best friend and that he posted it just as a joke but his joke turned out to be unfunny and will cause him to face the court by next month as he was charged with identity theft.
The ongoing financial crisis is really taking its toll on people especially to those who lost their jobs and are still in search of another job. Many end up working for low-paying jobs just so they could pay the bills while others end up working on odd jobs and getting decent earnings from it.
Under the services category of Craigslist, many odd jobs are posted and lots of people who are trying to make ends meet are also posting their services for people who can afford to hire them but does not have enough time in their hands to do the jobs on their own.
This is really one of the benefits of Craigslist and it’s what it is supposed to be contributing to people and the crimes that are connected to Craigslist are just a small percentage in all of the transactions done with the help of Craigslist. Craigslist has helped lots of people especially with their services category with numbers that are incomparable with all the crime-related transactions. Just make sure you know how to keep yourself safe in all your transactions.
On Craigslist you can post any type of ad you want and here you’ll find some of the wackiest and strangest ads there is. Take for instance this ad (http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/tfr/1114998141.html) The poster is looking for a Val Kilmer Impersonator who will pretend to be Kilmer in a party. You should be slightly “out-of-shape” if you want to apply for this job and should live in NorthEast Heights.
It may seem like a weird ad but it’s quite common in Craigslist. After all, you can post anything at any time in this online classified ads site and therefore you can post for any type of jobs that you may need. Of course make sure it is nothing illegal or else you’d still be held liable for it and not Craigslist.
There is an ad posted on Craigslist about a 1992 Honda Accord in Los Angeles. The owner reportedly spend thousands of dollars to have the car fixed but after all of his spending, the car is still haunted.
The poster said that the car is possessed of some kind of demon or entity. It makes strange sounds as if there is somebody talking and the speakers emit some type of sound even if it is not even hooked to anything. Also, when you get inside the car you would have this strange feeling that you just want to get out as fast as you can and there is a cold spot on the rear seats that is just plain weird. Maybe a sign that an entity or a demon is sitting there.
The owner is asking for just $6,500 for the car or even half that. He just wants to get rid of this devil car as it attempted to kill him several times in the past.
Now, who cares to make a purchase?
When you hit rock bottom you most certainly can think of even the strangest things like, perhaps, selling your own kidney?
That’s what William Miller thought of when he posted an ad on California Craigslist offering his kidney for just $100,000. He thought of selling his kidney since a human can survive with only one functioning kidney and he thought if he could sell it for $100,000 then he could pay off some of his bills. Unfortunately or fortunately, his ad has already been taken down since it is illegal to sell human organs in the United States.
If he would have gotten a buyer for his kidney he is thinking of using some of the money to pay for his tuition fee for a college. Maybe now William Miller would try to sell some other stuff on Craigslist next, hope he won’t forget that he can’t sell his limbs either.
