Nick Anthony Peters had stolen a camera and posted the ad on Craigslist. A woman from the Bonner County spotted the ad and thought it was quite suspicious that she immediately reported it to the police. That led the recovery of the stolen camera.
Not only that, Peters was also given felony drug charges. He was found to possess cocaine and was charged in Bonner County. He also received a charge for stealing the camera.
The camera that was stolen was a Nikon D-200. The detective from Spokane County posted as a buyer of the said camera. Upon meeting with the seller, the deputies of Bonner County arrested Peters and his girlfriend after determining that the camera they were selling was indeed the stolen camera from Detective Brian Miller.
When their car was inspected, a powder residue of cocaine was found. Peters then claimed to be the one who possessed the drugs so he could spare his girlfriend from getting charged. His girlfriend did not get any criminal charges against her.
The County sheriffs thank the woman who gave them information about the ad on Craigslist. They said that if it wasn’t for her, this case wouldn’t have been solved.
