Stolen Stroller retrieved through Craigslist

A $750 worth stroller was stolen from the front porch of Lindsay Taylor. After he noticed the stroller was stolen, this internet-savvy parent immediately checked for ads on Craigslist.

Lo’ and behold, he found an ad for a double red Phil & Ted’s stroller which is the same as the stroller stolen from them. The ad was posted around 3 in the morning just 2 hours after he heard something outside. He contacted the seller through email but the seller won’t give out his name and his number’s blocked. The seller became a bit suspicious when Taylor asked for the color of the stroller but eventually they met up on Sunday at a parking lot. Taylor brought a friend along. Then, a car pulled up and popped his trunk but stayed in the car while a woman went out and talked to Taylor. When he confirmed that the stroller was his, his friend took photos right away and Taylor started yelling at the thief couple. The police then took over when he reported the incident.

It turns out several cases were also filed for stolen Phil & Ted’s stroller so the Taylor’s are not the first victims.

A boy for sale ad on Craigslist had triggered an investigation

Someone who calls himself Rick Obelophy posted an ad on Craigslist selling his supposed-to-be 4 year old son named Gavin for $5,000. The ad was immediately removed but a Spokane woman who spotted the ad and called the authorities was able to save a copy of the text but was not able to save the photo of the little boy.

The ad may just be a hoax or a cry for help but it could be something even more. The investigators have seized records from the site Craigslist to get more information about the ad and the person who posted it. Investigators haven’t found any record for a man named Rick Obelophy. It is a Class C felony for anyone to sell or buy a child in Washington and once proven, you can be punished for 5 years in jail and fined $10,000.

Social media such as Craigslist are used by Gubernatorial Hopefuls

The Texas gubernatorial candidates are using social media for them to win more votes. Governor Rick Perry also used Facebook, Myspace and Twitter as well as Craigslist. He personalized his presence online by posting recent pictures on these Social media sites.

Not only was Craigslist useful to them, other sites especially twitter was especially useful. Kay Bailey Hutchison and the team are tweeting while Debra Medina are retweeting the support messages from her fans to show that she is actually reading these messages.

It’s amazing how social media helps people reach more into people which costs much less than paying for commercials and ads. It’s even more personal and fans could feel much closer to these gubernatorial hopefuls.

Are you looking for a place to stay in Manhattan? This ad may or should interest you. All you need to do to get the room is to walk on this man’s back 1 hour a day and find him a wife.

For an ad like this, you may think some fat and ugly pervert posted this ad but no, it’s an ad posted by an eye surgeon trained from Harvard, Dr. Emil Chynn. He also emailed a 2,600-words rant talking about his neighbor’s property to half of the media in New York, and he even made an ice statue of his dog.

His ad is titled free studio on Park Avenue for Personal Assistant. You’ll get a free studio apartment which is located at the basement of his office building as long as you would be his personal assistant. You will be given an extra $10,000 if you find him a wife! What a great deal indeed.

Ad on Craigslist led to robbery?

Two teens were placed in custody while other suspects are still at large. They are connected to the armed robbery where victims have been lured through a Craigslist ad. A couple ages 20 and 21 had been lured to the South Side street when they responded to an ad on Craigslist that offer several iPhones for just $4,000. They agreed to meet up with the seller on South Ashland Ave.

Upon arriving, their car were approached by several men with handguns pointing at them and demands for money. They were not satisfied and they beat up the guy while stealing the lady’s purse and some cash.

The police investigated and found out that another ad for CTA card was also posted on Craigslist with the same contact info as the ad for iPhones. The undercover police transacted with the 17 year old seller and arrested him and charged for 2 counts of robbery with firearms.

Polic investigators advise shoppers on the popular site, Craigslist, that they should insist on meeting with buyers or sellers on a public place and they should bring company to be safer. Make sure you let friends or family know where you are going and who you’ll be meeting as well.
